Elder Brady's Motto

"I have desired that while serving a mission that I am to do God's will, not mine. If it is the will of God that I should spend my days proclaiming this Gospel and bearing testimony of these things, I shall think of myself highly privileged and honored. When the spirit of God is upon me, I think it matters very little what I suffer, and what I sacrificed - whether I secure the honor or dishonor of men, or where I die, if it so be that I can keep the faith, fight the good fight, and finish my course with joy, I have all eternity before me in which to enjoy myself."

Perfect Life

Things are sounding crazy in your neck of the woods! 8-day vacations, declining lake Powell, continuing to use the Brady home hotel, and babies all around! Those were some awesome pictures! Thanks for those! Looks like Lynds and Kris definitely have their hands full with and baby in their arms and two more car seats at their feet! Haha

Abby you are looking so grown up! It's crazy! I hope you are liking your time back at school with all your friends and loving your teacher! We live next to a school so there have been herds of people walking up and down the streets around here now that school is back in session! I still can't believe I finished that... very surreal. It goes by way too fast. Speaking of high school, it's good to hear Alta is still on top and progressing with likable coaches! ;)

So this week has been awesome for Elder Kunz and I. We are like best friends are everything right now is... perfect! Our area is awesome, I LOVE the people here, we have found a lot of people to teach that are progressing towards baptism, we just had a very successful baptism last week, Our zone is amazing and we love all our missionaries, we are always trying to make the time count because we have found that there is just not enough time in the day these days...

So with everything going perfect and all and we just love life, I feel like I have become extremely connected with people around here and maybe a little bit too comfortable? And judging from the past, when that happens, right when you feel like you know an area like the back of your hand and in the loop with everything that is going on, you get transferred... transfers are at the end of this week and we are hoping that we will be together for at least one more transfer because things are totally epic right now. And besides I have never been with a companion for only one transfer so I'd like to keep it that way ;) so cross your fingers for me. We’ll find out for sure soon.

We have some great things going right now in the Newhall 2nd ward. Every Sunday we have been giving trainings to different auxiliaries during the third hour about how to do missionary work and overcoming their fears of sharing the gospel with their friends. Yesterday we taught elders quorum and high priest group combined and next week we are teaching relief society haha. They like this message we share I guess. We have become pretty good at team-teaching these trainings. We will be having ZLC this Thursday from 9-5 again whoopee (sarcastic).... Then early morning meetings with the stake presidency again at 7, training our zone for 3 hours on Friday, setting up interviews with the missionaries in the zone... It's now starting to feel routine... haha but I love it.

Lastly, we got to go to the temple last Saturday and see an investigator family get sealed after he baptized them a year ago! That was an awesome experience and a sweet opportunity to go to the temple again, unexpectedly.

Oh! And we just finished hanging out with the zone again today at the park playing games! They love it when we schedule these fun activities all the time.

Love you all and have a great week!

Everything we do, we do it BIG!

Sorry! Ha. Thank you for all those awesome pictures of Newport beach/Disneyland! They were fantastic! They looked like so much fun! Almost too much fun... ;)
I know, it's Tuesday and i am finally e-mailing... we had a crazy day yesterday! We got invited to go mountain biking up Placerita Canyon yesterday with a super less active member and his fiancee who is a non-member! His name is Andrew and is about 25. We are pretty close with him and his fiancee and have had some awesome opportunities to hang out with them! They are getting married on Saturday and don't want too much to do with the church right now, so the elders quorum, and such, have been working through us lately to get to them. We are just glad that Andrew and Stephany feel comfortable around us and want to do things with us.
So yesterday was an awesome missionary opportunity again that we couldn't pass up! You know those radio towers that are usually located on one of the tallest mountain peeks in the valley? Well, we might of made it to one of those yesterday on our bikes! It's was so sick! And even after jumping/crashing, and such, i didn't brake the bike i borrowed from another missionary which was another plus! haha
Anyways, this past week has been a miracle! Bryan got baptized and a ton of people came out to support him and it turned out perfect! The spirit was definitely present and i will never forget that experience. Brett (Bryan's non-member dad) had a big change of heart as well as he witnessed/got touched by spirit of the truthfulness of what happened. I'll never forget the moment right after I baptized Bryan and his dad standing there at the top of the stairs of the font. The three of us walked back into the bathroom to change with Bryan literally glowing and super giddy and Brett trying his best to contain the joy he was feeling. Brett knows it's true and will come along as well soon. :)
The rest of the highlights that happened this week was that we had a zone conference on Friday where Elder Kunz and I trained on "Finding with Faith/Love" It actually was a lot of fun and everyone really enjoyed it! We are getting better at this training thing every time we do it, and it finally feels like I actually know what I am doing now and how to make them fun. haha
We actually had a scary moment this week. So, we were sleeping one night (i know weird huh?) and we got a call from Pres. Hall at 4 AM that woke us up. He told us that he needed our help right away and told us some info and gave us an assignment. So we immediately got dressed and drove over to the Spanish elders apartment in our zone because their Carbon Monoxide detector went off in the middle of the night and they got MO poisoning and were dizzy/nauseous! We picked them up, and brought them to our apartment where we spent the rest of the night taking care of them and watching for symptoms in case we had to take them to the hospital. They slowly recovered and when we woke up Kunz had made us all breakfast! Yay! Best companion ever! Then the next day they were back to normal. Then we just called maintenance and such and got the situation at their apartment figured out and everything is okay now and they found the problem. Thank goodness for MO detectors! That stuff is a silent killer, so that was pretty scary...
Lastly, Elder Emery came back to the mission and visited me while he was here! It was so crazy to see him not as a missionary! I gave him my address because he was going to be close to Draper before he went back to school in Logan. He said he stopped by my house to meet my amazing family that i talked about all the time, but no one was home! Darn, then i just remembered you were all in Cali with me! That would have been awesome for you guys to meet elder Emery! Also can you send me Lark and Connie Erickson's address? An awesome member here (Debra Gardiner) is moving right over into that neighborhood i think and should be in their same ward but wanted to find out for sure...
Well this is all that i can think of for now so until next time! Stay classy family!:)

Bryan's Baptism

Family!
Thank you for all those awesome pictures! I can't believe you guys are at Disneyland! We are way too close... it's kinda weird. haha. So close, yet so far! Well that's awesome we are in the same state and all and tell Michael and Ana Congratulations for me! I actually got their wedding invite and their picture was awesome!
This week we officially finished our zone shirts and delivered them to all our missionaries! They loved them and we planned a zone activity for earlier today and they all wore their shirts and we took zone pictures! It was a ton of fun. We played ultimate Frisbee and Volleyball and basketball. Good thing they were in all in the shade because it has been averaging 110 degrees this past week! Yeah that's hot. But it's not as bad for us because Elder Kunz and I have a car! So we do our best to give other missionaries rides in our zone because i remember how much i appreciated it when i was in Lancaster.
So we are having a baptism this Saturday! Like 3 months ago i was on splits with a member and we visited a less active member. Her name is Jen and come to find out, her husband is a non-member but is super cool! We have been teaching them ever since and she is now active and her husband comes and supports her 100%. He is not ready for baptism, but we invited their 10 year old son to and he said yes a while ago. So Bryan will be getting baptized this Saturday and he asked me if i would do it. So I'm pretty stoked about that.
Then another part member family is one that you know, the Sirias family. And Octavio (the dad) has now made it official for when he is getting baptized. September 8th! So a lot of great things are happening in our area. We have a lot of others that we are working with as well but have little issues here and there keeping them baptism. But soon enough they will come around too!
So that's the update for now! Things are going really well! Love you all!

Meetings/Responsibilities

Hakuna Matata! (It means no worries)

Hey family! Thanks for those awesome e-mails and all the details! It is awesome to have somewhat of an idea what is going on at home and what some of my friends are up to!

Well this week was super duper busy! On Tuesday we had Zone Leader council (ZLC) with President Hall that lasted from 9-4! Holy shmoley! Very long... Then on Wednesday we have Zone Development Meeting (ZDM) with our District Leaders to help them to inspire their individual districts and such. On Thursday we did a service project with half of our zone in Castaic, it always turns into a party when we all get together even though we are working super hard and braking down buildings and stacking/moving supplies from one side of the mountain in his backyard to the other side. If you have a good attitude and are with the right people, it doesn't matter what you do, it will be awesome. ;)

Then President Hall has started a new program with a meeting called Zone Training Meeting (ZTM) where the zone leaders train the missionaries in their zone for 2-3 hours! That is as long as church! But it's all-good, we gave that training last Friday and with our awesome zone, it went by very fast!  Then lastly, but definitely not least, we had another meeting with the Valencia stake presidency and President Hall Sunday morning @ 7 AM where they just ask us questions about how the missionary work/etc. is going in the stake. At least that meeting is only an hour long ;) My perspective is changing and I a grateful when they are only an hour long... haha.

Besides all of this our 4 investigators with baptismal dates should all be baptized within a month from now. We pray. But then we just picked up another investigator last week that also came to church last Sunday! His name is Frank and he is a military guy that is divorced with a couple kids. He is pretty entertaining to be around. When we first met him and went into his house he was wearing camo gear and has a 50 Cal Sniper that he was assembling on his kitchen table... WOW! So we actually picked him up for church and he really enjoyed church and wants to come again! He is very spiritually sensitive and has been to a lot of churches. He told us there is something different about us and he said the reason he let us in was because he saw a light about us. He keeps telling us (as he looks over our heads) that he sees a light around us and he knows we are truly God's servants. So awesome. Only one hard thing is that he rolls up tobacco and smokes it all the time. We even had to wait for him a couple times because he had to step out of church in between meetings to smoke...

Well I have to get going now because we are almost done with the shirts we are making for the missionaries in our zone!

I love you all!
